I gotta love the circular logic here.

According to SBW the warning came from Google.
According to Google, it came from SBW.

After going through every damn comment on a three year old blog, plus the first year of posts, I found two suspect iframes (probably from WP 1.5 era) and a whole mess of legitimate iframes from Amazon.co.jp

I finally submitted everything and Google sez “Check back later to see if you are pure enough to be on the Intarweb”

Classic version of Dad: “Go ask your mother” Mom “Ask your father” type evasion operating here.

I’ve now spent my entire Saturday evening trying to get this crap sorted out so that the tech newbies who read our blog don’t get scared out of their pants when they go online.

I’ve got another blog on pre- 2.3.3 version also with K2 that has no trouble from SBW or Google. Make slittle sense, but for the poster above who thought it was K”, I don’t think so.

This whole thing stinks of scare-tactics scam. How many people will just give up and go to Blogger where Google gets all the ads without paying anybody? Oh, and WP not having anything on their front page about SBW is just appalling. 2.3.3 was a big goof it seems like. Come to the walled garden of wordpress.com or blogger and stopbadware will be like a bad dream. I think that is what is going on here.

How about a little more transparency from SBW?

Does anyone know how to go around this? Sometimes you can get by just by clicking refresh, but others you cant. Google used to have a thing on their own security allowing you to “proceed at your own risk” but this contains no such option, which should be mandatory on a non-user controlled security force.

I have also noticed the repeated flagging of torrent sites. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the RIAA’s work.

i made this at digg because my website was falsely listed as harmful to users , i recommend people dig this story so that Google can update there policy and verify before blacklisting them.

meangirl: When we remove an account, it does only directly delete the messages and threads that person created. In the case of a thread though, other messages in the removed thread would also disappear, since the thread itself is removed. Only threads created by that user would be deleted, though.

Nice layout and new functions in Mister Poll 2.0. I must however say that I do miss the possibility to write several choices in the same box with just a new line for each choice (like in Mister Poll 1.0). I miss this because I use to create the polls in Ms Word and use the “Copy” and “Paste” functions to export it into Mister Poll when I feel the poll is complete (that way I don’t have to be on-line everytime I like to create a new question). In Mister Poll 1.0 I could “Paste” all choices to a question at once, but in Mister Poll 2.0 I have to “Copy” and “paste” one choice at the time witch takes a lot more time, and makes the creation of new polls less fun.

At the risk of myself being accused of leaving multiple messages, would it not be best just to leave messages/threads intact that he/she disrupts, and just delete only his/her posts? That may be time-consuming for you, but it would make you and the message board the winner, and him/her the loser that he/she is.

I hate to bother you again, but today [4/4/08] this person has continued to rave on by adding comments to messages that only he has himself responded to for many days, since the rest of us know that to post anything intelligent is useless because he will quickly bury it with his baffling tirades.

If all you can do or will do is to delete those entire threads that this person ruins, then that person is winning……he/she is continuing to ruin this board and run people off. Please ban this person’s IP address or addresses if you can.

I hate to bother you again, but it is necessary. In response to my request, you recently deleted a bunch pof messages/threads by a person who was using the name “girlhater”. He is now back doing the same thing, using the mane “hatinggirls”. I have flagged most of the post, all of which are apparently posted today [4-3-08] and they are in “response” to stuff I posted MANY days ago. I have avoided posting anything new because I know he will jump right in and ruin the thread. Notice that nobody else is osting anything new either, and I believe it is due to their knowledge that he will just jump right in and ruin their message threads too.

It seems like the only way for you to stop this guy from totally continuing to destroy this boad is to ban him completely, and not permit his computer I.D. number from posting. If you do not do this, this board is finished.

Well, I just hope no adult themed polls are removed, so long as it remains adults only. That seems fair. I understand this would technically be considered private property, so “freedom of expression” doesn’t apply here. But I’d prefer that some of the “other than regular” sexual practice and messages remain.

Again, so long as it is adults only. I would hate to see this wonderful site end up on a slippery slope and become less than fun.

FruityOaty: Hey, I’m glad you got to the root of your problem. At least it seems like you did. You can never be certain what exactly Google / StopBadware.org flagged you for, since they don’t communicate it to you in any way. I hope they listen to your appeal and lift the warning for your site. Good luck!

Incidentally, it was not my WordPress blog that was flagged by Google / StopBadware. It was our actual misterpoll.com web site. So, at least in my case, it definitely wasn’t due to the K2 theme. I think that is a red herring.
